June 6, 2026

On June 6, 2026, it was a pleasure to join my wife, Nathalie Dion, and thousands of residents in celebrating the 50th anniversary of Dickinson Days in the Village of Manotick.
Held alongside the Ottawa 200 celebrations, this year’s Dickinson Days was a wonderful reminder of the history, traditions, and community spirit that have helped shape Manotick over generations. From the parade and family activities to the many local businesses and community organizations that participated, the event showcased the very best of our community.
It was great to see Ottawa Mayor Mark Sutcliffe join residents and volunteers in the celebrations and participate in the parade. Events such as Dickinson Days succeed because of the countless individuals who dedicate their time and energy to strengthening our community and bringing neighbours together.
I was also pleased to reconnect with friends and colleagues, including Duff Sullivan, former President of Boeing Canada, and Deborah Seto, RBC Executive Banker, who were among the many participants celebrating this important milestone.
As I continue meeting residents across Carleton, one message consistently stands out: strong communities are built by people who care, contribute, volunteer, and take pride in where they live. That spirit is alive and well in Manotick.
My sincere thanks go to Kelly Belair, Executive Director of the Manotick BIA, Chair Kris Gordon, and their entire team for their leadership and dedication in organizing this landmark 50th anniversary celebration. Their efforts, along with those of the many volunteers and community partners, helped make this year’s event a tremendous success.
Congratulations to everyone involved. Dickinson Days remains one of the great traditions of our community, and this year’s celebration was a fitting tribute to Manotick’s past, present, and future.
As your Conservative nomination candidate for Carleton, I look forward to continuing to listen, learn, and work alongside residents to help ensure our communities remain strong, vibrant, and prosperous for generations to come.
